Within the series of micro documentaries around Gego, Conversations fg directed by Montenegro & Lafont and that we are currently producing together with Fundación Gego, we had the pleasure of having Tahia Rivero chief curator of the Colección Mercantil among the personalities we interviewed.

Art pieces of this wonderful collection can be seen in the exhibition <<Contesting Modernity: Informalism in Venezuela, 1955-1975>>, which will open on October 28 at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston

For those like us, who have great interest in Gego and in Latin American Art, there will be works on a variety of media by artists such as Gego, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Alejandro Otero and Jesús Rafael Soto among many others. In addition to the exhibition on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th, a Preview Lecture and #Symposium will be held in Houston with the participation of experts such as Mari Carmen Ramírez, the Wortham Curator of Latin American Art and co-curator of Contesting Modernity, Luis Felipe Farías collector, Tahía Rivero co-curator of the exhibition and also Sagrario berti Sagrario Berti, Lisa Blackmore, Colette Capriles, Luis Duno-Gottberg, María Gaztambide, Fabiola López-Durán and Gabriela Rangel.

Not to be missed!
